Last Thursday, November 20, was the official opening of Artscape Wychwood Barn. Representing  a piece of Toronto's historic past, Wychwood Park Car Barns outlived its original purpose. A magnificent structure sitting in over 4 acres of land once housed five TTC barns to accomodate 167 streetcars that served 10 different routes.

A world that engages art, culture, creativity and a sustainable community.

A decision for rezoning and redevelopment retained two early 20th century industrial  barns for indoor purpose and two for green space, to be reprogrammed into a magnifcent space for the creative community, non-profit artists run studios, environmental organizations and education centres, performance and event spaces.

The project took 8 years of planning and a construction budget of $21.2 million.

Stop by the all year round winter farmer's market at the Green Barn from 9-Noon every Saturday for some slow food!
