Plastic water bottles and water tanks is taking on a new meaning. As part of the brand marketing and sustainable innovation, Motorola has come up with their Ecomoto program and greening all their phones. The product design process of the ECOMOTO program is split up in to three tiers: Tier 1 - from concept development and systems design by following a product envionrmantal template guidelines and standards; Tier 2 - detail design by a green design advisor; to Tier3- prototyping and refinement, production and reflection through life cycle assessment and real environmental product assessment. They aim at reducing hazardous material, maximizing recyclability alternative energy, energy efficient design. and 'less is more' in materials - eco obvious plastic, eco friendly packaging, low lead, energy efficient charger, high recycle content.
